A business marketplace, not a shop
People who shop Hacoo sometimes land on Alibaba after hearing that "everything comes from there". In a sense it does: many products sold on consumer platforms are made by suppliers who also list on Alibaba.com. But Alibaba.com is built for business buying. Suppliers list products with minimum order quantities, tiered prices and lead times, and buyers negotiate. A single-item checkout like Hacoo's is the exception rather than the rule.
| Platform | Who buys | Personal buyer route |
|---|---|---|
| Alibaba.com | Businesses worldwide | Sample orders only, usually |
| AliExpress | Consumers worldwide | Direct |
| Taobao | Consumers in China | Through an agent |
| 1688 | Businesses in China | Through an agent, often with minimums |
For personal buying, Alibaba.com is usually the wrong door in the right building.
Reading clothing listings: MOQ and tiers
A typical Alibaba clothing listing shows a price range and an MOQ. The low end of the range applies only at the highest quantity tier. A personal buyer comparing it with a Hacoo price is comparing a wholesale unit price with a retail one. Add the sample-order premium, the shipping a supplier charges for a small parcel and import tax, and the gap often closes or reverses. Hacoo includes shipping in its checkout and charges $5 per extra 0.5 kg above 3 kg.
The headline Alibaba price assumes a box of fifty.
What Alibaba spreadsheets are for
Search suggestions for "alibaba spreadsheet" include "template", "clothes" and "discord", and most of those spreadsheets are supplier trackers: columns for supplier, product, MOQ, price tiers, sample cost and lead time. That's a business tool. Hacoo finds lists are a different thing: product links for personal shopping. We don't cover sourcing stock for resale; if that's your aim, a dedicated business resource will serve you better.
Alibaba sheets track suppliers; Hacoo sheets track finds.
If you traced a Hacoo item to Alibaba
An image search on a Hacoo product photo can turn up an Alibaba supplier. That tells you who might make the item, not where to buy one. Look for the same product on Taobao or Weidian, where single units are normal, and buy it through an agent with warehouse photos. Or buy it on Hacoo. The Hacoo-to-agent guide explains how to search, and the converter builds agent links once you have a marketplace address.
A supplier match is a clue; a Taobao or Weidian match is a purchase.
Where to buy instead
For one or two items, Hacoo or AliExpress gives you a direct checkout. For a parcel of finds, an agent buying from Taobao or Weidian gives you photos and consolidation; see the agent status list. Compare totals in our calculator, or ask our WhatsApp service for a delivered price.
Single items: direct stores. Parcels: agents. Alibaba.com: businesses.
Sample orders: the one personal route on Alibaba
Some suppliers on Alibaba.com offer sample orders: one or two units, sold so business buyers can check quality before a bulk order. For a personal buyer, a sample is technically a way in, but it has drawbacks. Sample prices are usually higher than the per-unit price, shipping is arranged by the supplier rather than a consumer platform, and protections differ from a consumer checkout. Communication often happens through messages with a sales representative, and lead times can be longer than Hacoo's quoted 15–25 days to the UK, France, Germany and Italy. If a supplier's sample is the only way to get an unusual item, it can still make sense; just budget for the full landed cost and read the supplier's terms first. For most fashion finds, the same or a very similar item is available on Taobao, Weidian or in the Hacoo app with far less friction. Our Hacoo-to-agent guide explains how to search for those alternatives by photo.
Samples are possible, but rarely the easiest route for one item.
If you keep a list of finds that includes Alibaba rows, label them clearly as supplier leads rather than buyable items. Mixing the two causes confusion later, when a row that looked cheap turns out to need fifty units. A separate tab for supplier leads keeps your personal shopping list clean.
Alibaba questions from Hacoo shoppers
What is the difference between Alibaba and Hacoo?
Alibaba.com connects businesses with suppliers and manufacturers, and most listings expect orders in quantity, with prices that fall as quantity rises. Hacoo sells single items to individual shoppers in an app, with one checkout and shipping included. If you want one jacket, Hacoo is built for you; Alibaba is built for a shop ordering dozens.
What does MOQ mean on Alibaba clothing listings?
MOQ stands for minimum order quantity: the smallest number of units the supplier will sell in one order. For clothing it can range from a handful to hundreds of pieces. Some suppliers offer sample orders of one or two units at a higher price so buyers can check quality. Always read the MOQ before comparing an Alibaba price with a Hacoo price.
What is an Alibaba spreadsheet template?
Usually a table for tracking suppliers and quotes: supplier name, product, MOQ, unit price at each tier, sample cost, lead time, shipping terms and notes. Google autocomplete suggests 'template' for this search, which reflects that business use. It's a different thing from a Hacoo finds list, which collects individual product links for personal buying.
Can I buy a single item on Alibaba?
Sometimes, through a sample order or from suppliers who accept small quantities, but the price per unit is often higher and the process slower. For personal buying, AliExpress, part of the same group, sells single items to consumers, and Taobao items can be bought singly through an agent. Hacoo, of course, sells single items too.
Is Alibaba part of 1688 and Taobao?
They belong to the same Alibaba Group. 1688 is its domestic Chinese wholesale marketplace, Taobao its domestic consumer marketplace, AliExpress its international consumer marketplace and Alibaba.com its international business marketplace. For a Hacoo shopper tracing an item, Taobao is usually the most useful of these, bought through an agent. The group links don't change who you buy from.
